Ithaca, N.Y. -- The Bombers closed out their dual-meet season with a 127-113 loss to Union. Senior Steve Barnes (Malvern Prep/Glenmoore, Pa.) led the Bombers, posting victories in the 200- (1:47.38), 500- (4:47.10) and 1,000-yard (9:44.34) freestyle events. The time Barnes posted in the 1,000-yard race set a new Hill Center Pool record in the event, breaking the mark set by Ithaca’s Don McVeigh in 1982. Sophomore Mark Tedeschi (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) earned a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.30), while junior Miguel Escobedo (Curtis/Staten Island) was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.30).
